Vintage Aircraft -- story and photos by Dave Harris


What is vintage aircraft flying all about? You may wonder…………
Well, it is how aeromodelling started when in the 1930’s aeromodellers fitted sparked ignition petrol engines to free flight models. Colonel Claude E Bowden was one of the early pioneers and he designed many prototypes such as the “Kanga”, which in May 1932 managed a flight of seventy one seconds setting a new record!
